Looking for work is often the first step people try and take when trying to leave the street. However, New Hope SA recommend that job searching should come later in the journey towards independence. It can be extremely difficult to commit to a job when you do not have the security of a regular bed and food supply. We highly recommend first helping someone into a shelter or rehabilitation before helping them to find work. Once semi-independence has been achieved we recommend using the following organisations.
THE ZANOKHANYO NETWORK - JOB READINESS COURSE
The Job Readiness programme prepares participants for the job market by providing practical training in a supportive environment that encourages social and spiritual development. This transformational course is run as a 12 day or 3 week offering, and consists of the following modules:

1. REGISTRATION FORM
You can download the registration form or pick up a copy when you visit one of our employment hubs.
2. IDENTITY PAPERS
We need to make a copy of your ID, status or asylum papers.
3. COURSE FEE
The cost for the course is R100. You may make a R50 deposit, to start.
To complete your registration you will need to bring your completed registration form, your identity papers and your course fee to their hub in Observatory.
